Halloween fudge is an elegant treat with its smooth chocolate base tinged with subtle orange flavor. It’s a quick last minute treat that you can make in a few minutes to take to the office, to say thanks to a neighbor or just because. You’ve probably guessed by now that I am a fudge fanatic – any excuse to have fudge!!
You can use chocolate melts or semi sweet chocolate chips for the chocolate layer. A 12 ounce bag of chocolate chips is the equivalent of 2 cups – no measuring needed. I’ve always found orange candy melts on the shelf, but you could also use food coloring if all you can find is white melts. If you want a darker orange, add a little extra paste food coloring. I like the subtle flavor of just ¼ teaspoon of orange extract. You can boost the flavor by adding an extra 1/8 teaspoon of flavoring and still keep a balance with the chocolate. Decorate with sprinkles for a festive touch!
