Smashed Frogs – Halloween Candy

- ½ cup butter or margarine (1 stick)
- 1 10 ounce bag marshmallows
- 5 cups cornflake cereal
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 2 teaspoons green food coloring
- ½ 12 ounce bag M & Ms, fall colors, about 1 cup
- Measure cornflakes in large bowl and set aside.
- Lay waxed paper or parchment paper on flat surface in preparation for spooning out hot candy.
- Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently.
- Add vanilla and food coloring to melted butter, stir quickly.
- Add marshmallows and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until marshmallows are melted.
- Remove from heat and add cornflakes and mix until cornflakes are thoroughly coated, being careful not to crush the flakes.
- Let cool just enough to handle and stir in M&Ms.
- Drop by spoonful onto paper. OR rub hands lightly with butter and shape candy quickly with hands before placing on paper.
- Cool
