Basil Balsamic Pork Chops
Please Pin!! Thanks! Basil Balsamic Pork Chops take less than five minutes to prepare and cook in about the same amount of time on each side. The marinating process takes 2-12 hours depending on your schedule and when you prepare it. But – the process requires absolutely no attention from the cook. Unless you want to flip the bag over once or twice. An absolutely wonderful dish with only 15 – 20 minutes of hands on time! Note that there are two ways to choose from for preparation. Use a grill or use a broiler, whichever you prefer. Me – I go for the countertop grill pretty much year round. Wonderful served with rice or potato prepared just about any way, a nice crunchy salad or a cooked colorful veggie. A good marinade enhances the flavor, moisture and tenderness of the ... [Read More]
Slow Cooker Honey Pork with green beans
Honeyed Pork and green beans cooked long and slow in the slow cooker. Easy delicious one pot dinner. I tend to buy meat only when it is on sale. Usually I end up with several pieces of meat that need to be frozen or cooked immediately. This recipe works either way. Make it it right away. OR follow the Make Ahead Instructions to prepare everything ahead of time and freeze until needed. If desired, you can drop the sealed bag into another gallon bag and seal it. Then you don’t have to worry about the seal coming loose as multiple cooks (or snackers) rummage in the freezer. The first time I made this, I just dumped the ingredients on top of the meat. I assumed the heat of the crockpot would sort of melt and meld them together and they would spread over the meat as it ... [Read More]
Fruit Pork Roast
We had some good eating in the last couple weeks before the freezer left, including this deliciously beautiful Fruit Pork Roast. When the freezer's predecessor died, I almost didn’t buy a replacement. But we just couldn’t do without – in less than a week we gathered up the spare change and went shopping for a freezer. This time we decided to list the little chest on Craigslist and buy a new one to fit the new space once we move. The people who bought it were super nice. Her sister and children were moving from Florida to live with them for the summer (and maybe longer) while the brother in law got settled in his new job and found a house in New York where he’d been transferred. I wouldn’t back down on the price (since I had a list of seven more inquiries after theirs), but when it ... [Read More]

Grilled Pork Chops with Sauteed Apples
A quick and easy recipe from Bytes! This one is super fast! You'll need one medium pork chop per person. A medium chop is 3/4 inch to 1 inch thick. The ones Bytes used were about the size of my hand -- maybe three inches across by about five inches long. Grilling time is 5 to 6 minutes on each side. The apples also take about 10 minutes to cook -- no need to peel, just quarter, core and slice. If your grill has a side burner, this goes really quickly. Or you can cook the apples ahead of time and warm them just before serving with the finished chop. Use whatever apples you have on hand, a crisp apple like Gala or Fuji is good.
