Went to the kitchen at noon to prepare lunch. Looked out the big window and noticed no movement. No birds, no squirrel. Silence. Hmm? About 15 minutes later, I was ready to walk back to the office and noticed all the incoming traffic near the bird feeder. Birds were swarming all over – hanging on the feeder, bobbing for seeds on the ground, under hostas, in the flower pots — birds of all kinds and shapes. If finding food and eating all day is their main job — were they on a coffee break? Eating bugs for a change? Or do they have a map of backyards with feeders filled on Saturday and have a Sunday weekend schedule to follow? Inquiring minds want to know!
