I awakened Friday morning to a full volume cacaphony of honking geese! Not a few — literally thousands. The sky was heavily overcast but I could see them as they left their summer home on the Mile Wide River. Geese came into view in a haphazard clump and quickly formed into the trademark V formation as they passed by. Each huge “clump” came from a different part of the river in a timed ascension so they all had flying room. Once in formation, each group climbed quickly into the dense clouds, no longer seen but definitely heard. It was awesome! Little groups of 30-50 have been moving north for several weeks so we thought maybe the population had dwindled. Not the case. Geese showed up Friday morning all at once and in full volume, headed south. A spectacular sight! (And reminder that winter is on the way!) May you find joy in nature this week! Thanks for stopping by to share your awesome recipes, projects and ideas!

Your comment about the geese reminds me of the sandhill cranes we watch migrate each fall – thousands of them! It’s quite the sound and sight, too! And you are so right, definitely a sign that winter is on its way! Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Thanksgiving!
