Happy as a bluebird with a full feeder on a snowy day. . . .
Thank you, Linda at The Tumbleweed Contessa, for the Liebster Award nomination. Your questions caught my attention and made this a fun thing to do! The Liebster Award is given by bloggers for bloggers to foster community and gives the nominees more exposure. If you don’t have a blog, check out the links below to find some new reads!
Each nominee should:
- Mention the person who nominated you with a link to their blog.
- Answer the eleven questions they asked.
- Nominate eleven other bloggers with a smaller following but a lot of potential.
- Create eleven of your own questions for them to answer.
- Notify your nominees.
The questions Linda asked me are:
What made you decide to start a blog? I love to write, to cook and to create. Blogging is just a natural result of the combination of those things. Plus I wanted to learn something new – and boy, was there a lot to learn! Thank goodness for all the bloggers who share their knowledge of all things bloggy!
What is the most rewarding thing about blogging? I love the wide diversity of creativity, thinking, geographical location and perspective of other bloggers. Good virtual friends all!
What is the most challenging thing about blogging? Time. I have other obligations that have come forward in the last couple years that are very time and deadline intensive. You’ll all hear about them eventually 🙂 I’ve pulled back from some things that would help my blog grow, but it is only temporary.
What is your family’s favorite thing you make? My taste testers are very enthusiastic and appreciative of almost everything that comes their way. When it gets quiet and a new dish is on the table, I know that recipe is a dud!
What is your favorite movie of all time? I am the world’s worst movie person. The only way to make me set through a whole movie is to lock me up in a theater where I can’t jump up and go do “just this one thing”. We finally watched Blind Side on dvd a couple of weeks ago – the power of belief in the inherent good of another person is tremendous.
What is your favorite holiday? Christmas, far and above all the others!
What song do you find yourself humming when you are happiest? You are my sunshine! And hymns my mother and I sang in choir.
What is your favorite dessert? Chocolate
What is the first thing that pops into your mind when someone asks you to bring a dish to a pot luck? “Oh, good! A new group of testers for a recipe!” If only they knew!
If you could travel anywhere, where would that be? The United Kingdom. We’ve been to London and would love to go back. My ancestors are English and Scottish and Wheels’ ancestors hail from Ireland so we’d love to visit. And Wales, too! We only have a dozen or so more states out of fifty to visit in the USA so would like to see those. And. . . . a long list of other places!
Who would you take along on your trip? Wheels, of course. And a chauffeur so we can both sight see (and eliminate the arguments with Phyllis, the GPS “lady”! Who demands we drive straight for another 11 miles when we are head on with a body of water!).
My nominees are from recent links to Busy Monday. They are:
Highlands Ranch Foodie
All That’s Jas
Your questions are:
1. How did you pick your blog name?
2. Name a food/meal you could eat everyday for a week?
3. Were you named after anyone? What is the story behind your name?
4. Any special hidden talents?
5. Would you rather wear shoes or go barefoot and why?
6. What’ s your dream vacation?
7. What is your favorite room in your house? Why?
8. Give one random fact about yourself.
9. If you could live in any time period in history, which would it be and why?
10. What is the most creative thing you do on a regular basis?
11. Your choice of the questions Linda asked me!
Have fun!!

Thanks for those answers. I like your questions too. I think as a blogger I am so busy writing recipes and blogs and reading recipes and blogs I get lost in the personal touch except on a few occasions. You must see the movie McFalrland USA. Heart warming and encouraging.
Wishes for tasty dishes,
Linda
