For the last several years, we’ve wrapped the decorated skinny six foot tree on New Year’s Day and stashed it away. This year I bought a new flocked tree to fit in the same spot, only taller. Got out the ornaments collected through our little family’s history and arranged them on the tree. Gold bulbs swirled around and up, strings of red beads circled in even swoops and droops. White angels from my collection flew from top to bottom. A garage sale set of 1940’s Disney bulbs move upwards, evenly spaced across the front. Vacation souvenirs, gifted ornaments from family and crafty friends found the perfect spot to rest. And I rediscovered the reason, we left the other tree decorated. It takes a long time to decorate Christmas trees! You know what else takes a long time?? Tying those Perfectly Placed ornaments in place. Cut a two foot length of gold ribbon, run it through the ornament hanger, tie it tightly to a branch and leave the ribbon to curl among the branches. Every evening during tv time since New Year’s Eve! A LONG time! The top three feet of the tree will have to come off and be stashed separately. Or else the whole thing will stand 11 months of the year in the middle of the furnace room. On the other hand, those totes that held the ornaments are now at Goodwill. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your awesomeness!

I agree, it sure does take a long time to decorate Christmas trees. Last Christmas we decided to get all the ornaments organized, and honestly, I was shocked at how many we had. We have many that are handmade by our girls. Thank you for hosting this wonderful linkup, and a big thank you for featuring my bloggers’ dos and don’ts post! I appreciate it. Have a wonderful week ahead!
