Busy Monday 371

Wheels has been feeding the birds regularly even though the weather is warm.  Baltimore Orioles come every morning to eat their fill of grape jelly.  We had never seen one before — their brilliant orange coloring is spectacular!  Goldfinches and cardinals add their brilliant red and yellow flashes to the garden.  Robins and doves hop around doing ground patrol, while white capped sparrows and other brown birds sort through the feeder finding their favorites.  Busy place!  Thanks from coming from your busy place to share your awesome posts!

  3. I always feel blessed when I get to see an Oriole! I saw one high up in a tree at a park recently, but I’ve never had one come to our feeder. Maybe someday….

  7. Wow that’s magic! How ashamed am I that I didn’t know what a Baltimore Oriole was!!! The glass that I use to sit on my nightstand features an important game in the Baltimore Orioles calendar about 20 years ago and refers to the legendary Carl Ripken. My husband lived in the US at this time and was a big fan. I’m always expecting him to tell me not to put it in the dishwasher. The birds are glorious and I’d never even noticed the bird that sits on the Orioles peaked cap, – how unobservant am I?.

    • I love the great diversity of posts that are linked every week, too!! I always learn something new. Loved your story about the baseball team. I’ve heard of them and of Cal Ripken, of course, but never associated them with the bird — now how could I not??? One of my something new for the week — thanks!!!
