Summer officially started last Thursday — the longest day of the year. I was waxing on to sister Vee, saying that was my favorite day of the whole year – long day of light and sunshine and possibilities for great travels and picnics and gardens in bloom and fresh vegetables and. . . . Yeah, she said, but I hate that the days get shorter after that. That paused the rather one-sided conversation. And then we laughed. She’s right – balance in everything.
