“High winds, red flag warning” flashed on the weather app last night — NOT kidding. Straight 45 mph wind with gusts up to 65 mph attacked the house and is predicted through Sunday night – creak, howl, occasionally a bang from tools or toys left outside from who knows where. People are urged not to travel as wind directions are unpredictable and could blow your vehicle off the road. This is FLAT country and everything is wide open to the elements! I had no idea high winds are a fire risk themselves – learn something new every day! Low humidity, lack of moisture with dry prairie grass and brush create ideal conditions that wind amplifies. Power lines, machinery, tractors and water pumps, electric hand tools, somebody’s grill, a car accident – all can create sparks that can be delivered far away. I’m making hot chocolate and staying inside today – cuz the gales are still blowing! May you find warmth and soft winds this week! Thanks for stopping by to share your awesome projects, recipes and goodness!

We don’t have that type of wind you described, but we do have a rain and flood warning in effect for this week. Lots and lots of rain is coming down.
Take care, Charlene, and thanks for the linkup.

We’ve had high winds and fire warnings in Denver, too, and then a dumping of snow last week. Saturday was 71 degrees, then we woke up to 3 inches of snow on Sunday. What a wild ride! Thank you for hosting this amazing linkup each week. 🙂 I’ve shared a couple of my own posts and am off now to see what others have shared and leave some comment love. Enjoy your week!

Same here in East Texas! We have been on a burn ban for the last 2 weeks, low rainfall and lower (than our usual high humidity) humidity. The wind started last night and is expected for some time today and off and on for a couple of days. But not bad or our area, this is our tornado season…I will take this over tornados.
Have a good week ahead, take care.

Isn’t amazing how human beings are so adaptable! Tornadoes, dry weather, high humidity, low humidity, snow, wind. We take note and keep chugging!

Thanks for stopping by! Google and I are still at odds for some reason (all their fault, I am sure!) so can’t always comment but enjoy seeing what you’ve been up to!

Wow! You were smart to stay home and drink some lovely hot chocolate with winds like that, Charlene! Hopefully everyone stayed safe and the winds didn’t cause too much damage! We were also homebound this weekend – we had some winds, too, but mostly we got snow – 10 inches! Will spring ever arrive? Thanks so much for the party and for featuring our “Leprechaun” post. It’s always a joy to stop by! We’re sharing #5 and #13 today. Have a great week!

I hope you stayed safe. We had high winds two days ago and a large plant pot that has stood in the same place for years, came down and cracked 🙁
