The microwave beeped. I took out my plate and turned around. A small finger long brown bird with a beak half as long as its body was staring at me through the window, perched on a hook that held the humming bird feeder. I stared back across the length of the kitchen and dining room. I slowly began to eat as the bird watched. Finished, I set my plate on the counter. The tiny bird swooped down for a long drink of lunchtime nectar, then flew off to a nearby tree. A flashy humming bird with emerald back and a ruby throat flew in for a long swig from the feeder and then off to the same spot in the same tree. I had lunch with our new neighbors apparently! May you find some time to be with nature this week! Thanks for stopping by to share your awesomeness!
