Busy Monday 580

Rocky the Rescue Cat  has shaped us to be his servants with nothing more than “the disdainful look” and a few sharp meows. He rewards us with a head bump now and then, a lap sit of a couple of minutes and, if really pleased, allows an ear rub.  We require little of him in return— stay in one of your own beds (plural) for your naps (also plural), keep your claws to yourself and don’t jump on flat surfaces higher than your head.  He broke one of the cardinal rules this week and if you’ve ever had a cat, you’ll understand his thought process!  No one around – time to check out the kitchen.  Up on the counter, sneak over to the sink.  Right past this little blue light.  Instant water flow.  Instant high jump, landing halfway across the adjacent room.  He stood bewildered, shook his whiskers and sauntered over to the bed in the corner.  Only wet fur disclosed he’d triggered the new kitchen faucet when he passed by the blue light.  That and his new habit of walking around the perimeter of the kitchen, totally avoiding the island with the sink.
