Ghosts and ghouls paraded up by the dozens up our front walk last night. It was interesting to see the parade begin with costumes covered with coats (and parents coaching from the driveway). They were excited to see toys like kazoos. Then the beggars morphed into Superman, a surprising Porky Pig, and characters I didn’t recognize – but no mom and only a few coats. They chose equally between pencils and candy. Then the parade became groups following themes: a hockey player with a three football players, a gaggle of girls with wild makeup. They went for the cookies in a package. And finally older boys dressed in school clothes and just wanting candy. Alas. All that was left were a handful of glow sticks.
